Acne can affect many places. One of the places, it affects is back and buttocks and is called bacne. Bacne is caused when you sweat profusely, causing irritation of acne. As the sweat is a waste product of the body, it can contain dirt, toxins and oils. This can worsen the situation of bacne. In severe conditions, the lesions are large and painful.
Bacne is more difficult to treat than facial acne due to tough skin. Hence it needs severe treatment. You can use mild cleansers whose main ingredients are salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide to treat mild attacks of bacne.
In puberty, the sebaceous glands start working aggressively to produce sebum, an oily substance. It is secreted through the openings in the skin. However, when sebum is produced in excess, it remains within the pores, blocking their openings. This results in trapping of the dead cells and oil, which otherwise would have been ejected out of the skin. It results in the clogging of the hair follicles, providing a breeding ground for bacteria. When these bacteria irritate the surrounding skin, it gets inflamed. This causes acne or bacne.
Though not proved, heredity is a major cause of bacne. Besides, external factors like carrying heavy loads on the back and tight clothes can give rise to bacne. Sometimes internal problems like hormonal problems and blocking of wastes and toxins in the body can be culprits in formation of bacne.
Food does not play a part in causing bacne. Similarly, excessive production of oil, heavy perspiration and stress do not have any role to play in bacne.
You can treat bacne with over the counter drugs and homeopathic medicines. For severe attacks, get the treatment from dermatologist or skincare experts.
