Home Remedies for Acne

Acne is a dreaded skin condition that has affected everyone’s life at some point of time or the other. Though there are many medications available in the market, which claim to treat acne, there is no specific treatment as such. If you suffer from a mild problem, these medications are highly effective. For a major outbreak, consult a dermatologist.

Besides these medicines, there are hosts of home remedies that you can try. Though they have yielded positive results in some people, it is not necessary, they will work for you. Here we offer the ten home remedies for acne.

1) Extract lemon juice and mix it with equal quantity of rose water. Apply this mixture on your face with a cotton ball and keep it on for 30 minutes. Then wash your face. Repeat this process for 15 successive days after which you will find a noticeable reduction in symptoms and fading of scars.

2) Drink 4 cups of nettle tea a day. Nettle tea has certain properties are effective against basic skin problems.

3) Apply aloe vera extract on your face twice a day to clear your face of lesions.

4) Apply a minuscule amount of toothpaste (not gel or formula) on your face before retiring at night. It will reduce the size of pimples by morning.

5) Apply fresh mint juice on your face and leave it on overnight.

6) Crush garlic cloves and apply them on the face once or twice a day.

7) Make a paste of a teaspoon of cinnamon power and 3 tablespoons of honey. Smear it on your face at night and wash it off with warm water in the morning. Repeat this for two weeks. It will get rid of pimples for a long time.

8) Clean your face with water and dab the pimples with cotton balls dipped in vinegar.

9) Make a paste either an almond or oatmeal mask and rose water. Apply it on the acne-infected areas. Keep it on to dry for nearly 15 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. This method will clean your face and pores and remove blackheads and whiteheads.

10) Make a tomato pulp and apply it on the pimples and acne. Keep it on for at least an hour and then rinse.
Besides these, you can also concoct your own remedy. But be cautious while applying the home remedies because if the situation worsens, you will have to consult a dermatologist.
